KIIT International School celebrates 20th Foundation Day, felicitates academic achievers
Bhubaneswar (Odia Gossip Bureau, July 2): KIIT International School celebrated its 20th Foundation Day on Thursday with KIIT Vice Chancellor Prof Saranjit Singh saying that the School is not merely an educational institution but a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
Addressing the gathering, Prof Singh said education is the foundation of lifelong learning and character building. Quoting the Sanskrit verse “Vidya Dadati Vinayam, Vinayad Yati Patratam,” he said knowledge leads to humility, humility to worthiness, and worthiness ultimately to success and happiness.
Prof. Singh expressed gratitude to Dr Achyuta Samanta, Founder of KIIT and KISS, for his extraordinary vision, saying he has demonstrated that education is the most powerful instrument for social transformation.
The celebration featured the felicitation of class toppers and students who excelled in academics, sports, co-curricular activities and other fields. Teachers for their outstanding contributions were also honoured.
Saswati Bal, President of KIIT and KISS, conveyed her blessings to the students, teachers and the school management on the occasion.
Delivering the welcome address, Dr. Mona Lisa Bal, Chairperson of KIIT International School, recalled that the school began its journey in 2007 with just 25 students and 14 teachers. Today, she said, it has emerged as one of the most promising international schools in eastern India.
She attributed the institution’s growth to the vision of Dr. Samanta, noting that at the time of its establishment there was no international school in the true sense in eastern India. Advising students to embrace the future with confidence, she urged them to think boldly, embrace change fearlessly and pursue excellence while never losing their humanity.
Dr. Sanjay Suar, Principal of KIIT International School, said the institution continues to strive for excellence with a focus on enabling students to make a meaningful difference in their lives. He encouraged students to acknowledge their shortcomings, work to overcome them and celebrate their achievements.
