Achyuta Samanta Receives AAPI Award for Transformational Social Work and Indo-US Partnership

Bhubaneswar (Odia Gossip Bureau, July 5): Eminent educationist, social worker, and founder of KIIT and KISS, Achyuta Samanta, has been conferred with the “AAPI Award for Transformational Social Work and Indo-US Partnership” by the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI).

The award was presented to Samanta during AAPI’s annual convention, AAPICon 2026, and the 44th Congress, held in Tampa, Florida, USA, from July 2 to 5. He was honoured for his extraordinary and transformative social service, visionary humanitarian efforts, unwavering support to AAPI during the Global Health Summit 2026, and his personal contribution towards strengthening India-US relations.

AAPI highly praised Samanta for his lifelong dedication to society, social service initiatives, and humanitarian contributions. The award was presented by AAPI President Dr Amit Chakraborty in the presence of over 3,000 doctors and specialists attending the conference.

AAPI is one of the oldest organisations in the United States representing more than 120,000 physicians of Indian origin. Its members are engaged in healthcare services across the US.

On the occasion of US Independence Day on July 4, Samanta was invited by AAPI to attend the programme as a guest speaker. Addressing the gathering, he appreciated the work being carried out by AAPI and urged its doctors to devote a few days every month to providing healthcare services in India.

Responding positively to his appeal, AAPI extended its support and its doctors reportedly pledged to offer healthcare consultation and services in India for 7 to 15 days every month.
